Day 01: Haridwar - Barkot

210 km | 7–8 hrs | Altitude: 1,352 m

Pickup from Haridwar/Dehradun (Airport/Railway Station) and drive to Barkot via Mussoorie, with a stop at Kempty Falls (ideal for lunch). Continue to Barkot, check-in at the hotel. Evening free to rest for the next day’s Yamunotri trek. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Barkot: A scenic hill town at the confluence of the Yamuna and Tons Rivers, surrounded by apple orchards and offering views of Bandar Poonch peaks. It serves as a key halt en route to Yamunotri & Gangotri.

Weather:

  • Summer: 25–30°C
  • Winter: Cool days, cold nights (10–5°C)

Day 2: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot

36 km drive + 6 km trek one way | Altitude: 3,291 m

Early morning drive to Jankichatti/Phoolchatti, then 6 km trek to Yamunotri Temple (on foot, pony, or doli at own cost). En route, enjoy scenic views of lush valleys and Himalayan flora.

At Yamunotri, pilgrims take a dip in Jamunabai Kund, offer pooja at Divya Shila, and cook rice in Surya Kund as prasad. After darshan of Yamuna Mata, return trek to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot for overnight stay.

  • Temple built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur
  • Key spots: Surya Kund (hot spring) & Divya Shila (sacred rock)

Day 03: Barkot – Uttarkashi

90 km / 4 hrs | Altitude: 1,352 m

Drive to Uttarkashi, check-in at hotel. Later visit the famous Vishwanath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples, rebuilt in 1857. Also visit the Shakti Temple, known for its massive 6-meter trident (Trishul), believed to be thrown by Goddess Durga. Uttarkashi, located on the banks of the Bhagirathi, is often referred to as ‘Saumya Varanasi’ and holds spiritual significance. The town is also home to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering.

  • Weather: Generally warm in summer (30–35°C); nights are pleasant. Cold in winters.

Day 04: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi

100 km / 3-4 each side | Altitude: 3048 m

Early morning drive to Gangotri, stopping enroute at Gangnani for a holy dip in Garam Kund. Continue via the scenic Harsil Valley, known for its natural beauty, deodar trees, and mountain views.

On reaching Gangotri, take a sacred dip in the Bhagirathi River, perform Pooja & Darshan at the Gangotri Temple, and spend some peaceful time in the serene surroundings.

Later, drive back to Uttarkashi for overnight stay.

Highlights:

  • Gangotri Temple – Built by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th century.
  • Submerged Shivling – A natural rock visible in winter, believed to be where Lord Shiva received Ganga.
  • Kedar Ganga Sangam – Confluence of Kedar Ganga and Bhagirathi near the temple.

Day 05: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi

220 km / 8-9 hrs | Altitude: 1319 m

Drive to Guptkashi, enroute enjoy the scenic views of Mandakini River at Tilwara, which originates from Kedarnath. Continue driving alongside the river till Guptkashi.

On arrival, check-in to the hotel. In the evening, visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.

About Guptkashi:
Guptkashi, meaning “Hidden Kashi,” holds mythological significance. It is believed that Lord Shiva hid here from the Pandavas before moving to Kedarnath. The town is also home to the Kedarnath pandas during winters, and the idol of Kedarnath passes through here en route to Ukhimath during the temple’s seasonal closure.

Day 06: Guptkashi - Kedarnath

30 km by road | 19 km by trek

Early morning, drive to Sitapur/Sonprayag, then take a local jeep to Gaurikund (at own cost). Begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath by pony, doli, or on foot. Carry essential items like personal medicines, warm clothes, and toiletries for the overnight stay.

Visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, nestled amidst the stunning Kedarnath range.

Legend:
After the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva’s forgiveness. To avoid them, Shiva disguised himself as a bull and disappeared into the ground at Kedarnath, leaving only his hump visible. The other parts of his body appeared at Tungnath (arms), Rudranath (face), Madhmaheshwar (belly), and Kalpeshwar (hair)—collectively known as the Panch Kedar.

Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Day 07: Kedarnath – Guptkashi

19 km down trek | 30 km by road

Wake up early before dawn for Abhishek Puja at Kedarnath Temple (starts around 4:45 AM). Devotees can enter the Garbha Griha, touch the idol, and offer personal prayers.

After darshan, trek back to Gaurikund, then take a local jeep (at own cost) to Sonprayag. From there, drive back to Guptkashi.
Check-in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08: Guptkashi - Badrinath

215 km/7hrs | Altitude: 3133 m

Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. Check-in at hotel. In the evening, visit Badrinath Temple for darshan and aarti. Overnight stay.

Badrinath is one of the four sacred Dhams, located at 3,133 meters amidst the Nar-Narayan ranges with Neelkanth Peak in the backdrop.

Major attractions:

  • Tapt Kund: Natural hot springs for ritual bath before temple visit
  • Narad Kund: Sacred pool where the idol of Badrinath was found
  • Brahma Kapal: Site for ancestral rites
  • Sheshnetra, Charanpaduka, Mata Murti Temple: Sacred sites nearby
  • Mana Village: Last Indian village before Tibet
  • Vyas Gufa, Bhim Pul, Vasundhara Falls: Mythological and scenic landmarks

Day 09: Badrinath –Rudraprayag

Badrinath –Rudraprayag 160kms / Kirtinagar 200kms

Early morning, take a holy dip in Tapt Kund and have darshan of Badrivishal. Perform Pind Daan at Brahmakapal. Later, explore nearby sites like Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund, and the origin of Saraswati River (all within 3 km). After sightseeing, drive to Rudraprayag / Kirtinagar via Joshimath. Check-in at hotel. Overnight stay. Joshimath: Winter seat of Badrinathji, home to temples like Narsingh Temple. According to belief, once the idol’s left arm withers completely, the Badrinath shrine will shift to Bhavishya Badri.

Day 10: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh- Haridwar

160kms/5hr / Kirtinagar – Rishikesh - Haridwar 135kms/4hr

Drive to Rishikesh, the spiritual town nestled along the holy Ganges and surrounded by the Shivalik hills. Legend says Raibhya Rishi’s intense penance brought Lord Vishnu here as Hrishikesh, giving the town its name.

Visit key attractions:

  • Laxman Jhula & Ram Jhula
  • Triveni Ghat (famous for evening Ganga Aarti)
  • Bharat Mandir
  • Shivananda Ashram

Later transfer to Haridwar Railway Station / Dehradun Airport. Tour Terminate.
